Was St Paul the first person to write about Jesus dying for the sin of Adam and all sins, and is it enough to believe in one persons “idea”?

Also is the new testament the only source of St Paul’s writings on Adam/sin?

Thanks.

Adam is mentioned predominantly in the writings of Paul within the New Testament - scripture inspired by the Holy Spirit, and through His grace understood.

Luke describes Jesus’ lineage as originating with Adam. Subsequently Adam appears in the gospels, when Jesus is quoted saying that we leave our parents and become again one flesh as man and woman.

This person, Paul, and if you doubt his “idea”, I wonder why you would not doubt his actual existence, was struck blind by and spoke directly with Jesus.
Yeah, I have faith in his “idea” and He who gave him that understanding.
Ultimately, the Source is to be found in our relationship with God.

The Bible is the dialogue between God and Humanity, the Church the vehicle, by which we get to paradise together.

I did wonder if anyone else had the same revelation as St Paul, I don’t doubt his existence, and I find his vision on the road to damascus inspiring.

I asked the first question because as it is over 2,000 years since St Paul’s writings, reading other peoples “ideas” on what Jesus came for, although they can’t be certified as genuine, how can we be sure that what they are thinking now, isn’t from the holy spirit?

It’s a different world from St Paul’s, a technological world if you like, with references to The Cosmic Christ.

Cosmic Christ?

If Jesus is GOD HE created the whole Universe as we declare when we recite the Credo at mass.

What is this Cosmic Christ you speak of? Has the Universe changed much in 2000 years?
Are the Constellations changed much?

Believe me the Universe has changed little since Jesus came and the human condition has changed even less.
All the sins and vices our ancestors had or committed are still being committed today.

. . . how can we be sure that what they are thinking now, isn’t from the holy spirit? . . .
We can be sure because we have scripture and a church to assist our intellect in discovering the truth, through the grace of the Holy Spirit.

There is another “we” - that collective of individuals representing humanity, lost in sin and ignorance.
Paraphrasing St Paul, as in Adam we have cut ourselves off from the truth, so in Christ we will come to know it.

Basically, it is up to you to make the Journey, to face your doubts and forge ahead; clearly, with the help of God and those who travel that same Path with you.
