St Rita's feast day (May 22) Spirituality
Following a novena to St Rita, the saint of the impossible, she healed a friend who had been virtually crippled and forced to walk on crutches for many weeks due to severe pain. I made a webpage with information and pictures of St Rita which were photographed while on a trip to Italy to thank her for this favour. It is at: missionbell.homestead.com/strita.html Brendakaren blog.
It’s a bit like Lourdes, I have heard a number of positive stories on her. Just because those cases are not categorized into the official statistics does not mean they did not happen.

I watched the movie “St Rita” or “Rita of Cascia”, however one wishes to title it, the 2008 Italian movie. I had seen these figures with “beaks” during the Bubonic Plague, like the one on the left. I did not know these were the official workers of the Plague and this was protective gear. I always thought it was just symbolic imagery:

Otherwise, her affliction (partial stigmata or stigmata) per praying is more fascinating information on her. She received it, a thorn impression on her forehead from what I can tell, when she was around 70 years old, lived another 7 years or so.

She passed away and has been “incorrupt”. I am not sure if one can see the thorn mark on her in Cascia. But it’s all just some story. Great movie as well. Great and thought provoking life.

Edit on, National Shrine of St. Rita in Philadelphia:

I’m astounded by all of this.
