hi…
i am currently going through a divorce… i have been praying for a restoration of my marriage to st. therese. I prayed the 24 chaplet to her and on the 6th day i got a rose in my email with the subject of the email being a rose. I assumed that this was a sign that my prayer was going to be answered. I had prayed that when my aunt talks to my husband that saturday, he would agree to be reconciled. He did not agree… I am confused.
Again some days back i felt drawn to go to the church in the eveing and found a st therese prayer card on the mantle. while i was praying the 24chaplet, i had found a beautiful card at the same place and then lost it. I have heard that when your prayer is finally answered, she manifests herself in some form to let you know that she has interceded for you.
I am just completing the 5 day novena today and have asked for a real rose before the novena is over to let me know that the marriage will be restored.

DO you think i am reading too much into these signs???

St. Therese has interceded for you, but God’s answer may not be what you have prayed for. Just trust in God and accept the comfort St. Therese has been sending your way…

God bless!

It is said that she sends a rose only when the prayer has been answered…

i asked her for a real rose and this is the last day of the novena… my friend just gave me a birthday gift and it was a book called “Grace for the moment”. todays message is to pray for restoration of the marriage before you give up…
the package has roses on it…pink ones…
i am so CONFUSED!!!

does this mean that my prayer has been answered??

I would agree with Kevinsgirl. Of course she has interceded for you and of course your prayer is answered but possibly not in the way you would expect. Or possibly it will take more time. Trust that she will surely intercede for you and trust the Lord for His presence, comfort and Love in your life.

Prayers and (((hugs)))
Tee

No matter who we ask to intercede for us, God answers our prayers in one of 3 ways: “Yes.” “No.” “Not yet.”

We all want to have it be “Yes,” of course, but God knows best. So, keep on praying, but pray with the intention that you will accept whatever answer God gives you, even if it isn’t what you want to hear.

God wants our love and willingness to do his will more than anything else for it is he we are going to spend eternity with, with or without anyone else we have known and loved.

You have my prayers, as well. 🙂

Keep praying, and pray for your husband, that the two of you can get back together.

The many “signs” may be Ste. Therese’s way of telling you to keep on, and have patience, as sometimes it takes time to heal these things. Whatever went wrong is probably more complicated than can be healed in a day.

Trust in God, whether or not you get “signs”.

Receiving a Rose - and I too have received a rose from St. Therese on the internet - means she is listening to you.

One of the toughest things I know about prayer is that God will always answer me and give me exactly what I need and what I am supposed to have for my higher good…unfortunately it may not always be what I want.

I hate that part.

That you receive the signs confirms your prayer has been answered.

It does not mean what you specifically asked for has been or will be granted.

Take comfort in knowing with confidence your prayers were heard, that God has answered them, and now let His answer be revealed to you.

In the meantime, pray that you are open to His response - whatever that may be, and yes, that includes an unreconciled marriage.

There are several couples who married, divorced and married each other again down the line - even some who entered into other relationships in between.

I don’t want to give you false hopes. Just know and trust that God has you in His care and no matter what faces you, you will be the better for the outcome - in the long run.

For me, I only take a real physcial rose as an answer.

Anyways, sometimes the answer is Yes but the Yes answer is not to what we actually feel that we want but is to what we actually need.

i asked her a real rose too to tell me that my prayer has been granted… i dont know if i can take the roses on the package to mean that they are real and not in the email or something…

but i think your answer is right… a real physical rose is the only way to be certain

This sounds so much like my brother in law’s story. He just went through a tough break-up with his girlfriend of 3 years, and couldn’t come to terms with it. He prayed a novena that they would get back together and on the final day he walked into a classroom…

And there was his ex drawing a rose on the chalkboard. When he left, a rose bush outside was blooming out of season.

Certainly his prayer was answered, and St. Therese interceded, but 2 years later his ex is engaged and he is starting a relationship with another lovely young woman.

Similarly, my husband attended a vocational discernment retreat at the end of a St. Therese novena regarding discernment, and as he was leaving the Church he noticed the stained glass windows above the doors depicted roses. He, too, received an answer and intercession from his novena, but it did not mean he was to become a priest… well, if it did, neither of us discerned our vocation properly.😛

Be comforted by the confirmations, but don’t try to attach any specific meaning to them. I truly hope your marriage is restored to the glory of God.

vluvski…
did your brother get back together with his girlfriend after the novena and did they then break up again?

just wanted to know… as i am so confused…

One thing to note in this also.

Your request has to do with the will of another person.

Your novena might actually have been answered yet the other person still has the free will to chose something other than what God wants for them.

God will force no one to chose what He wills for that person.

but arent there instances in the bible where when prophets refused to do god’s will, they had to go through difficult times till they realised their wrongdoing and came back and did the right thing?

Real roses . . . virtual roses . . . BE CAREFUL. When Therese was dying she said that when she died she would let fall a shower of roses. Noboday ever saw that shower. The “roses” were graces obtained through her intercession.

This thread seems to be skirting on the supersitious.

It is one thing to confide in the intercession of the Saints and quite another to be requiring them to produce physical tokens of their intercession.

Heck: a friend of mine was praying to St. Therese for something and waiting for a rose. Since it was something that was good for her and also involved me, I sent her a bouquet of pink roses (she had forgotten about mentioning the rose to me) – then she changed her mind about the whole thing. Go figure.

God did not force them to stay…
He didn’t force them to return.
He allowed them to turn away until they were ready to return.
Of course He continued to sent grace and messages and pull at their heart until they saw the light…but they still had to recognize it and choose to return.

What ByzCath is saying is God will not force your husband to ‘see the light’ and return someday. He will continue to pull at your husband’s heart, in response to your prayers, but your husband’s will is his.

like jonah …
Jonah was a specific case representing a specific exchange between Satan and God.
The reason the story is preserved and continued is to remind us to never lose sight of God’s love for us, to remain true to Him in all things no matter how much despair you might endure. That by doing so we will be happy in the end.

We’re not saying it is impossible that somewhere down the line your husband may come back to you …
we’re saying if you pray for your marriage to be healed now, without separation, without divorce…and you’ve received confirmation from St. Therese that your prayers have been heard…the sign from her does not mean you will get precisely what you prayed for.

You will get what God knows is best for you.
That may or may not be a healed marriage.
The comfort you seek from the Novena is knowing with confidence that your prayers were heard and the God will indeed see you through to a happy ending.
It’s going to be His happy ending for you though, may or may not be the one you imagine for yourself.
Trust that you will be happy, no matter what.
You’ve got to stay focused on God’s will, rely on His strength, His love, His guidance.

Rose bushes dont have a blooming season. If the weather does not get too cold they will bloom year round. I have rose bushes that bloom even when the temp gets down to below 20 degrees.

I know… thats the reason why i didnt take it as a sign… i got a gift from my friend and the package had roses on it… she had other packages to give to someone else and that did not have roses… so i feel that st therese send me a special message on the last day of the novena…
however, i had asked her for a real rose to let me know that my prayer had been granted…
