Why would you think I’m not serious?
I’m trying to take you seriously Lily. I am striving to take you seriously. But when you compare standing up for Jesus to calling security or police I can not.

Perhaps you have a more reasonable metaphor that one can take somewhat seriously?

Perhaps when you can learn the difference between something that is a side issue, or an off topic comment, in a thread, and something that is the main point of that thread, then I’ll take you seriously. Not to mention learning the difference between apologetics and apology (sheesh, don’t you have a dictionary?)

See, I wasn’t actually trying to compare standing up to Jesus to those things at all. I was merely responding to your off-topic assertion that it was inappropriate to ever teach kids to stand up for themselves or their friends, which you asserted constituted child abuse. And pointing out quite the contrary, that a true friend or child absolutely stands up for their loved ones, every time, and can do so in all sorts of appropriate and useful ways.

Clearer now?

I think I am getting clearer on this Lily. God being God, still needs his children to stand up for him. Because, that’s what theists think.

Did I finally get it right?

How can I detest Christians when I am continually attempting to show the Christians on these message boards how they can escape the Hell-fire and enter Paradise for all of eternity?

BTW, prostration to the Lord is a good way to begin the journey to Paradise.

As you can tell by my post, i tend to be quite blunt in my delivery, but im not ashamed.
I dont tread around to make a point, but what i want to know is, do you think been blunt is something Jesus was as well? i mean, if you look at our scriptures, he was right to the point as well, what do you think?
I think he was blunt when the occasion called for bluntness. Discerning when an occasion calls for bluntness, and when it does not, can be tricky. I find myself in that dilemma sometimes. :o

Peace,
Robert

Not at all - another way to look at it is we’re not standing up for Jesus so much, but standing up instead for our own right to believe in Him as we understand Him without interference, mockery, abuse, or what have you, and to practice our faith as we see fit without the same. So for ourselves in a sense.

Must we argue?

I think that the post made by Hamba, was good and true. It’s right to prostrate ourselves before God because He is all-holy. I often feel the need to be prostrate before God. However, the discussion was about standing up before others not God. We stand up *for *God, not to God.

If that’s what he thinks ,Hamba is very wrong ,

1-the fate of any person is reserved only to God…
2- The Quran mentions several times , that Jews and Christians can enter heaven without the need to change their religion to Islam…

He never on this thread mentioned that he believed that only Musilms were saved. That may very well be his belief, but it’s quite irrelevant to the subject at hand. Hamba’s beliefs about salvation are better challenged in another thread.
