Closest thing I have to that John, is choosing to participate something called Chinese Grab Bag (not my words) at the office Christmas Party. The idea of this is you pick a number and when your number is called you take a gift and open it in front of everyone else. The next person whose number is called gets to pick a gift of their own or take the previous persons gift. Most calls from the crowd are to take it form the previous person.
but the intention was to order a line of people in a queue in respect to their birthday. (Jan 1 - Dec 31). I just thought it didn’t warrant being un-co-operative at that point.Was this a class on how to cast horoscopes, or simply an ice-breaker to get to know people. Hardly a problem or moral issue to state your birthday. It is no more idolatry to refer to certain dates as being in one house of the zodiac than it is to state your birth day and month, since they also trace their origins to pagan religions and concepts. The constellations and zodiac signs are simple acceptable references to the position of the stars at certain times of the year and in common use by science. As long as you are not trying to forecast the future or worshipping the pagan deities invoked there is absolutely no problem. People who try to invent one are indeed being scrupulous.
