i am looking for a religious order that accepts older vocations with the following qualities. i’ve done quite an extensive search but have not been able to find any. all though there are many good solid orders out there: here are what i consider charisms that are living a life as close to Christ as possilble:
-Faithful to the sacred teaching of Holy Church / Orthodox
-total dedication to the Immaculate Heart of Mary and the Sacred Heart of Jesus
-Faithful to the Magesterium and the Holy Father
-Pro-life Apostolate and very active about it.
-contemplative and very apostolic
-Most Holy Eucharist Adoration at least 1 hour a day
-Real reverence for the most Holy Eucharist, and Holy Mass and the Priesthood
-Service to the poor and most importantly the most vulnerable among us (children)
-Say the Divine Mercy chaplet
-Concerned about the salvation of souls
-a life of poverty similar to St. Francis
  • a love and respect for God’s creation by protecting the earth and environment
  • a real love of God and wanting to share that desire with others
  • fasting, mortification
  • all these qualities can be wrapped up in the example of Blessed Mother Teresa and Our late Holy Father John Paul II
does any one know of one such place - or are there others that are interested in living a life like this?

Peace - Michael:)

Closest thing I can think of are the Norbertines. Here’s a link to the website of the abbey I regularly attend:

I recommend sending an email to the vocations director, Fr. Justin, if you want more information. His email is on the “Contact info” page.

Here’s the vocations page:

I go to Holy Hour and adoration as often as I can there, they offer it every night. And it’s as traditional as they come, Latin and all 🙂

Well, they could be saying Matins at 3 am… 😉

I am curious as to what is entailed in their “English High Mass.” I assume they just do a traditional Missa Cantata with the rest of the Mass in English? And are the Masses in Latin in the traditional form or are they just Novus Ordo’s in Latin?

As far as monastic life in the USA goes, I don’t see any room to complain.

Pax tecum.

I also have to add they seem to have some of the most beautiful sunrises/sunsets I have ever seen.

Pax tecum.

Sounds like everything the proposed charisms of Cloister Outreach will be doing. Please feel free to either email or PM me.

Blessings,
Cloisters

I’m not certain, actually. I’m not a regular attendee of their Sunday Mass, my little sister wouldn’t be able to sit through 2 hours of Latin.

And you are certainly right about the sunsets.

I love praying on that hill, I can see my house from next to that cross. Beautiful place.
