Exactly. If you have lots of money then you can decide what you want to do with it.
If you’re thinking of raising money to support a particular cause then you need to find other people who have money and who support that cause.

While it is true that people like Bill Gates can start a philantorhopy much easier than ordinary people, it does not take a rich man to do good. Jesus said what we did to the least of our brothers we did it to Him. Our good deed of giving a cup of water to a thirsty person will not be forgotten by the Lord.
This past weekend, “Food for the Poor” came to our parish for fund raising. Fr. Frank, the visiting priest, was a multi-millionare lawyer. He gave away all his money to the poor, became a priest six years ago and now working for “Food for the Poor”. When our Vicar introduced Fr. Frank, he said, “There is hope for lawyer.” Because our Vicar was also a lawyer before. Our Vicar has just been ordained for one year. He too, was a multi-millionare and gave away all his money and became a priest!
Fr. Frank mentioned someone came to him and said that government would take care of the poor. He said, “The point is not what the government does, or what other people do, the point is what will you do?”
How true it is! Our relationship with God is purely between God and I. Talking about doing good, the key point is what I can do and what I will do.
God does not expect we all get rich then start a philantorhopy, God does expect we do all we can at where we are.

This is extremely good advice, for beginning your own Philanthropy. Could be… that God wants more than money to assist those in need? Maybe He wants our hearts?
