I just saw this interesting movie on Netflix called Stations of the Cross. It’s a new film from 2014 that was made in Germany; yes you have to read subtitles. Has anyone else seen this movie?
The movie is about a young girl who is trying very hard to be a saint much to the frustrations of everyone around her because it begins to effect her health. It was interesting because I am unsure what the movie makers intended. On one hand , if you have no knowledge of sainthood and how one can give their whole lives to God, it may seem very cruel. To me it seems like a version of saintliness that few of us would even recognize. I would be very interested to hear other viewers impressions.
