Did anyone attend this or have teens who attended? Any reactions? My son went and said some parts were great, while others were just “weird”. Per usual, the whole story will dribble out of him during the course of the week, but I was wondering what the thoughts were on this forum.

My two teens attended. They loved it. Said they felt much closer to God and didn’t want to leave. We are hearing more about it today, yes the story will come out little by little. It was sensory overload on top of sleep deprivation. LOL.

You haven’t filled you your biography so where are you from. The Pacific NW is a large area. To answer your question, our son attended Steubenville for 2 and a half years. He and his wife, who he met at Steubenville, trancfered to Central to complete school. He loved it there. It got him away form his mother and he met a wanderful woman.👍

Hey, wow. What a small world.

I’m originally from Battle Ground, Washington, and I attended Central for two years before going to Franciscan U.

Franciscan University was the best and worst year of my life–academically and socially. Academically, I did better there than anywhere else–made the Dean’s list, profs loved me, etc. However, I lost my faith for a while. I overloaded. I know exactly what your son’s talking about when he says parts are “weird.” Mainly, it was the charismatics, but the whole environment is a magnet for people with half their mind lost in another world.

Still, great school.

I think what she means is the retreat that the fransican U of stuben ville hosted for teenagers in the pacific northwest, i think it was in olympia. some other kids from my parish went, i was in juneau ak at the time so i couldnt go 😦
