Seriously, this is more entertaining than the circus or a good carnival.

I checked the youtube. I do think he is a bit of track in the first half. Actually a lot. But that comes from using a very English Bible as your Primary source. I don’t know Greek, but if James White didn’t even use that as an argument then I am against it. (It’s a joke… Before someone posts something)

Anyway yea. His last half is quite of. Nothing to with Contraception but still a faulty understanding. But then again, I do think he would try to “save” me just as much as he would try and “save” you.

but on anderson, well using contraception isn’t something i would say could be accused of.

I’ve never understood the hate for the NIV bible from some corners of Christianity. I mean it’s not the best translation out there IMO, but it’s far from a paraphrase disaster like The Living Bible.

Note that I did not say “the Church taught,” but “the Church seemed to believe”. I am basing my statement on the fact that Augustin more than once called it a venial sin to have marital sex not specifically aimed a procreation, and there is no record that he was ever corrected by a higher authority or by his fellow bishops.

Not quite what he said, he said it was a veneal sin if it was due to lust instead of begetting children. . I think JP II also said lusting for you spouse was wrong. Not claiming Augustine 's teaching on marital sex was perfect, but he gets a worse rap than his teachings deserve.

Re: the NIV translation, it is missing 7 books… as in -10.4% of the canon of the bible is missing. How can it even be called the bible? Same with any translation minus those canonical books?

I think there are about 40 ’ deleted ’ verses in NIV.

But you know, we have no originals and the early documents we do have contain textual variances…so translators will do what they do.

To be fair most protestant bibles are missing those 7 books of the deuterocanon. The NIV isn’t unique in that regard.

If God gave you His will and testament, and 10.4% of that will and testament was literally removed by revolutionaries in the 16th century, how do you think God looks at that?

Probably not too good. Which is why I’m glad my church has the deuterocanon in its bible
