What’s the point? Do the non-Catholics actually think theologians were clueless or something past a certain date?
 
Not at all.

We do believe, though, that when Jesus promised that the Holy Spirit would lead His Apostles into all truth, that He meant it. So in essence, His divine revelation was complete at the death of the Apostle John, and no further essential development would or needed to take place.
