Nothing in the article says he is a Joseph Smith descendant. (Or at least nothing I could find). In fact, I am familiar with Thomas Smith, and every-time he gives a talk, he makes it quite clear he is NOT a direct descendant from Joseph Smith. He definitely has a Mormon pedigree, and IS descended from early Mormon settlers, but that is not one of them.

Thanks for pointing out he isn’t a Joseph Smith descendant. I changed the heading of the article in response to your remark. My source of this article had said he is a Joseph Smith descendant.
