It also pays to mind one’s own business.

This reminds me of a letter I once read in a Dear Abby column. The writer asked Abby what she thought of a nosy priest who stood outside the door of a brothel to see which of his parishioners were entering it.

Abby replied that the priest wasn’t very bright. People seeing him standing there could easily assume he had just come out.

I am a senior recovering from a stroke. A female neighbor of 20 years invited me to an prayer group at an adoration chapel. Day one was good. Following week I was told a woman can not mentor a men she is not married to. Day three in the lobby it was brought up among 15 people or so, that being friends and walking our dogs together would lead to concupiscence. I reported this to the priest. The guy was removed from the position. Now he sends out thinly veiled accusations of false witness against me to everyone in a large group. His untrue accusation ruined a friendship and ruining my reputation.

That is so sad! I hope your priest will be able to sort that out.
