“We’ve always been very good friends, and we take care of each other, especially regarding the spiritual life of each one of us”

Their friends and family wanted to help out too. That was just the beginning; monetary donations and offers to work as volunteers started to pour in. The network of solidarity grew, and the meal even ended up being offered for free by a professional catering company.

Isn’t this in the Bible?
Where the King threw a wedding feast and it was the poor who came?
❤️🙂❤️🙂❤️🙂

A lovely idea. I think the wedding industry is out of hand. Very few people care about the trimmings at a wedding, and some people see it as a game of one-upsmanship.
Good for this couple!

I absolutely LOVE to read stories like this!

This kind of thing is my bread and butter. This is the way things are supposed to be!

What a great story. There’s a somewhat similar story, which I may have posted here before, about a couple who married at the Oxford University Catholic Chaplaincy. On the invitations, they requested: “Bring your own sandwiches. Donations to CAFOD.”
