This unpretentious post well provides important facts about Saint Andrew.
I find particularly interesting the story of his role in a battle in Scotland, in which the Scots faced an overwhelming force. Before the battle the Scottish king saw Saint Andrew in a vision, and during the battle an x-shaped cross appeared in the sky, similar to the one Saint Andrew was crucified on. Then they won. Since that time Saint Andrew has become the patron saint of Scotland and its flag is modeled after that cross.

Thank you very much. This is very meaningful to me because I am named after St. Andrew, I am of Scottish descent and my wedding anniversary is tomorrow. God bless you.
