Stretching your biretta?

I just got my biretta, which I purchased online, and the size is a little tight. I’m wondering if there’s any known way to sorta stretch a biretta, the same way as you would stretch a hat? Because I’m trying to avoid paying to have it shipped back and exchanged, or worst case scenario, purchasing a new one.
 
What’s it made out of? I know some are made out of cardboard covered in silk. If that’s the case, it isn’t stretchable.
 
Unfortunately I believe that it is made up of cardboard and silk.
 
Well, then I guess you’re going to have to live with Biretta head then.
