Stuck in a rut (Let's start RCIA now)

So, I decided I wanted to become Catholic in May. It wasn’t a depiction that hit me overnight. It took a year for me to come to this conclusion. I just wasn’t ready for it last fall. But now I’m ready to go and dive into it!

I’ve been going to Mass every weekend. Talking to Catholics, priests, etc. studying the Bible. Reading books, dogmatic teachings, the catechism. Studying the saints. Praying daily. Praying to mother Mary. Asking questions…I can go on and on and on.

I’m just in a rut now…RCIA doesn’t start until late August. It seems like its taking forever. What can I do until then? My mind, body and soul craves the Eucharist. Any thoughts / suggestions?

I suggest that you, first of all, trust God fully that He is “in control” of things, and will not deny you the grace you need because of any matters beyond your control. The Church that is asking you to wait is His Church, by His intention, and He is working.

Second, through the growing in faith and trust that you ought to be seeking, in the meantime, you will be more and more able to receive “spiritual communion” with Christ in the Mass, especially at the time of Holy Communion. As others are going forward to receive Him substantially in the Eucharist, you can be increasingly able to receive Him in a different way spiritually - a unique and beautiful and powerful way - which can be a great surprise for you.

This true, authentic, real, powerful and intimate spiritual communion with God in Christ - in His passion on the Cross, in His resurrection glory, in His ascension to the Father, in His sending of the Spirit to the Church and to you - all this will only strengthen and deepen your experience of Him in His substantial Presence when you receive Him in that way, later.
