Hi everyone,

I am going to attend a Ukrainian Greek Catholic Church, and before I go I want to learn about the structure of the liturgy so that I can feel oriented and know a bit about what is going on. I believe the Ukrainian church makes use of the St. John Chrysostom, or Byzantine rite.

Can anyone suggest a resource, or a place on the internet where I can watch the liturgy tape-recorded in full? YouTube has proved to be a poor resource, with no masses taped in full.

Having read about Eastern Catholicism and watching a documentary, I have become very fascinated, and want to attend. It may be because the Eastern Catholic devotions and ways of doing things in general are novel to me, or I may be called to the Eastern rite. I suppose time will tell, and I will have some discerning to do.

Thanks!

It is rare to find complete single videos of the Divine Liturgy on YouTube because it takes* soooooooo* long just to upload even relatively short videos let alone 90 or 120 minutes! There are many that have the Liturgy in sections.

youtube.com/user/tsyhan?feature= Excellent Ukrainian Catholic parish with great singing.
youtube.com/user/logostvuzhgorod/videos also good video from the Ukrainian cathedral in Uzhgorod.

If you don’t mind the recording being of a Ukrainian Orthodox Church (which uses the same liturgy of St John Chrysostom) this site has very complete videos, some are aver 2 hours long!!!

Yes the Ukrainian Catholic Church uses the Divine Liturgy of St John Chrysostom.

Similar but different, is the Byzantine Catholic Divine Liturgy from the Holy Ghost Byzantine Catholic Church in Philadelphia. You can view the Divine Liturgy and other liturgies live and also recorded here:
