Sad to say, it’s been done – And not by someone trying to ridicule the ACLU.
W.Va. City’s Xmas Scene Has No Jesus
ST. ALBANS, W.Va. (AP) - Christ is missing from Christmas in this small town. The community’s holiday display has a manger with shepherds, a guiding star, camels and a palm tree, but no baby Jesus, Mary or Joseph.
The parks superintendent said Jesus was left out because of concerns about the separation of church and state. But Mayor Dick Callaway said it was done for purely technical reasons: “It’s not easy to put a light-up representation of a baby in a small manger scene, you know.”

I see what you mean. Terrorists, whether of the ACLU variety or otherwise, know that if they can force the fear of bankruptsy upon a community they can intimidate them into doing almost anything. It is a shame.

ACLU Nativity is funny. Marx, Lenin and Stalin as wise men and Nancy Pelosi as the angel.

The other article is so sad. They will have a nativity scene without a Mary, Joseph or baby Jesus.😦

I have long said the way to deal with the ACLU is to cover whatever offiends with with a tarp and a sign reading “Censored by the Anti-Civil Rights Union.”

Ok, I don’t get this… in the “Full Story” link below there was mention of a problem with Toys for Tots

“Two weeks ago, the Marine Reserves Toys for Tots program in Los Angeles overcame concerns about accepting a donation of 4,000 talking Jesus dolls that quote Bible verses by promising to make sure the dolls reach Christian children.”

So non Christian parents would be ok with their kids standing in line to accept free gifts from the Marines, but only as long as their was no Jesus doll in the gift giving??? Isn’t Toys for Tots a Christmas present program???

All I can say about that is oh, puleeessse

What about parents who don’t want their kids to get toys like cap pistols, stuffed animals, and on and on? In the end, we won’t give any toys to children, because someday some parent is likely to object to any conceiveable toy we might offer.

What’s wrong with saying, “Thank you for your effort. I’d like my child to get (or not get) such-and-such a toy?”

These kinds of articles make me feel so sorry for Jesus and Mary!😦

Yeah, that’s true. I still can’t get over someone who objects to getting a Christian doll for a Christian holiday. What business do non-Christians have standing in line for handouts of Christmas presents? It would be like me standing in line for free Hanukah gifts and then complaining that I got a dreidel.

**Good News: **Baby Jesus will be born.
**Bad News: **Apparently, he is an orphan.
US town restores Jesus to nativity scene
The Associated Press Published: December 4, 2006
ST. ALBANS, West Virginia: Baby Jesus will be in the manger for Christmas after all, even if Mary and Joseph will not be there to coo.
Officials have put the infant back into the town’s nativity scene after news reports about the omission prompted e-mails from as far away as South Korea.
“The baby is in the manger,” Callaway said Monday.
Jesus will be included, but Mary and Joseph are still out.
