It is not just men who hit women. Women hit men, too. And the latest research shows that ignoring the role women play in domestic violence does both women and men a disservice.

There is little doubt that women get hurt more than men. She may slap him. But then he may hit her harder or more often.
By not understanding the mutual role they often play, women are at great risk for injury, new studies show.

Still, the newest findings challenge the feminist belief that “it is men only who cause violence,” says psychologist Deborah Capaldi of the Oregon Social Learning Center. “That is a myth.”

The number of women who hit first or hit back is “much greater than has been generally assumed,” Capaldi says. She says she is surprised by the frequency of aggressive acts by women and by the number of men who are afraid of partners who assault them.

ill attest to all those facts. speaking from personal experience. Florida has swung the hammer down on ANY domestic violence. the statute is applied very broadly, and can include non-married persons cohabitating.

if you are convicted, you WILL go to jail with no exceptions. and the convition CANNOT be expunged for any reason other than an overturning of the convitions.

however, the law hasnt stopped revenge by spouses. you wouldnt believe what ive seen people do (and heard about) instead of slugging it out.
  1. a guy took a diamond tipped saw, and cut the car literally in HALF to “divide” the assets. i actually stood there and watched that.
  2. man comes home and finds the TV, the DVD player, the laptop, his autographed baseballs all in the bathtub filled with water and bubblebath.
  3. man leaves sprinklers on inside the house for about 14 hours
  4. man hired demolition company to level the house before filing for divorce, while wife was away.
  5. and probably my personal favorite, wife takes 300$ in Barr one dollar bills (bills printed when Secretary Barr was treasury secretary for only a day in office before dying-----worth about 3-400$ each) and spends them at an all male review strip club, with pictures to prove it.
ive heard that Florida is considering a “anti-vindictive” bill that would prohibit actions like those during or right before divorce proceedings. but right now, everything i talk about is perfectly legal.

From personal experience, knowing a lot of people in all forms of life: goodie-two-shoes, gangster, punk rockers, total weirdoes, “normies”, nerds–violence is all over the board, men and women. ugh.
