Slightly more than half of American teenagers, ages 15 to 19, have engaged in oral sex, with females and males reporting similar levels of experience, according to the most comprehensive national survey of sexual behaviors ever released by the federal government.

The report today by the National Center for Health Statistics shows that the figure increases to about 70 percent of 18- and 19-year-olds.

Strange how when I was a teen I did not know about this way to have sex. But then I guess that all this sex education outside of the family has made things better.:banghead:

I am also shocked by these statistics, but I don’t think they are due to sex education. I think they are due to movies and television. Teenagers are bombarded with sexual images on a daily basis. This is why we don’t have cable TV, and I will be very strict about which movies my children watch.

I’m in my 30s and Tv had nothing to do with it. The “friendly girl” down the block did… that wicked harlot! 😃

And they should change the age starting at **13 ** 😉

Back in my teens, I wasn’t told about sex.
Sure I had the Health class in High School but I wanted to know WHY I was experiencing what I was dealing with. I held out until I went to college…then I did whatever I wanted and now learned 24 years later that I led a ‘less than moral life sexually’.

All I can say is that, If I had lived now as a teenager today, I would have had a lot of questions answered than going and doing things my way.

I always suspect surveys, especially when they do not tell you the demographics of those who were asked and those of who responded, as they are usually different.

I also suspect them when they do not supply the actual questions that were asked.

That being said, the survey/study does not say “Half of All Teens Have Had Oral Sex”, what it actually says is the “Half of All Teens Have Responded That They Have Had Oral Sex”.

Having sex outside of marriage is against catholic teaching.

Bragging about participating in grievous activity is inappropriate for CA forums. (I deleted those posts where I found them)

In the future, please discuss these topics in the moral theology forum or not at all.
