Good morning. I have started attending a study of the Gospel according to Saint Luke and the Acts of the Apostles.

There is a large amount of commentary and additional resources out there. Other than the catechism, what would any of you recommend as a good survey of these two books?

Thank you.

I would recommend the Igantius Study Bible series:

Gospel of Luke:

Acts of the Apostles:

Gospel of Matthew up to and including The Second Letter of St. Paul to the Corinthians:

Good recommendations. I would also recommend the Navarre Study Bibles. Yiu can get them as single paperback volumes for Luke and for Acts, or you can invest in the hardcover edition that has all the Gospels and Acts.

I totally recommend the Early Church Fathers and St. Thomas Aquinas. They provide a very pure and indepth prospective to Bible interpretation that is grounded in our Catholic Traditon! Take time to check these links out, I think you will be amazed!

St. Auguatine newadvent.org/fathers/1602.htm

St. John Chrysostom Acts newadvent.org/fathers/2101.htm

Here is all the Ante-Nicene Fathers that gives you access to their citations of each passage, it is awesome! earlychristianwritings.com/e-catena/

And here is the same thing for Thomas Aquinas which is equally as awesome! globalserve.net/~bumblebee/ecclesia/summa/index.htm

Thank y’all very much. These suggestions looks great! I appreciate your advice.

Have a great weekend and…
