Kwanza is the currency of Angola. It is currently trading at 85 kwanza per US dollar.

Kwanzaa is a (IMO) misguided attempt to create an “African” winter celebration. It was developed in 1966 by a college professor in California.

Kwanza is supposed to be a holiday.

If you make it a Federal Holiday and pay me overtime to work on it then I’ll recognize it and have fun celebrating it. (I’m not a Jehovah Wittness! I take the money for birthdays that I’m sure they return or refuse to accept.) Till then, I’ll just settle for Christmass, MLKJr, New Years, etc…

Now if we could get 1 or 2 Federal Holidays per month that would be great!

Hi,

Kwanza is an African-American celebration that lasts from 26 December - 1st January.

I’m sorry, but that’s incorrect. It is completely an African-American-invented thing to celebrate their African roots.
