As a catholic is it ok for me to listen to subliminal messages? I use them because they help me wake up early when I need to.

Depends on the messaging
Obviously it isn’t for Everyone
Not that I am condoning it
To be fair, I don’t know for certain, but I wouldn’t.

But that’s just me.
I like drinking cold water first thing in the morning. Helps wake up the system

I don’t know what you mean about subliminal messages. I made a song Once, where the beginning of it is just me saying something backwards that’s actually a conspiracy theory, that’s disproven and I did it as a joke. Do you mean like that kind of subliminal? I’m confused.

It’s when people wil take a song or any audio and put messages only quiet enough for your sub conscious to hear.

I don’t know. You have to remember, that there was a time of moral Panic, that when someone said subliminal messages, it was because there were allegedly satanic messages in rock songs that were played backwards. So, when you say subliminal messages, that’s what my brain thinks of, although I know that was not always true. I’m not sure about those, I wish I could help you more.

Your ears hear. They transmit electrical impulse to the same part of your brain, which is not divided into a conscious and unconscious part. There are no subliminal messages. There may be things we sense but are not directly conscious of (some human pheromones for example).

This balderdash is still around?

Oh, how well I remember in my protestant/fundamentalist youth, hearing preachers rail against Stairway to Heaven because of “backwards masking”.

This is a sort of conspiracy theory that has been thoroughly debunked (google will bring up many articles).
