Suffering of Innocent

Where can I find an explanation as to why Innocent People suffer and die - especially children. How do you explain to children why God allows it to happen.

There are no pat easy answers. There is complete and absolute freedom in this life for nature and fellow humans to have their way, within their natural limitations. In terms of moral evil, or sin, rather than control man’s will God allows the freedom to commit these acts, for the time being, for His reasons. The same for natural or physical evils. Ultimately every tear will be wiped away, good and evil will no longer be allowed to coexist. But until then, God works to persuade man, so to speak, by bringing light into the world, and helping us to understand why we should embrace it- and flee the darkness that causes so much harm. Even to the point of Him suffering and dying Himself, an extremely ugly kind of death to convince us of just who He is, by what He’d willingly go through in order to prove His love for us. Not a distant God, aloof in His superiority, but one willing to come down here and mix it up with us, then suffering just as we do, but at the hands of His own creation, in spite of their sin. And then resurrecting to prove that it’s all worth it, an eternal life of ineffable goodness and happiness is the lot of those who follow Him, embracing the light. Suffering is temporary; death isn’t the end. Love lies at the foundations of the universe.

Something that stuck with me about suffering is that earth isn’t perfect. Heaven is perfect. Since we are on earth right now and not in Heaven, our lives won’t be easy and we will experience pain and suffering. And if we try our best to offer our sufferings to God and live a loving, holy life, then we won’t suffer at all once we get to Heaven. I know that doesn’t really dig super deep into theology or anything, but it’s a simple answer that reassured me.
