Can anyone suggest a book I can “leave out in the open” for my 19 year old son to read? I am worried because he’s reading a new age type book called the “Philistine Prophecy”. If I have a book out that looks too Catholic he’ll think I’m preaching. Are there any books about being Catholic that would not sound too preachy but answer questions in an interesting way for a young adult? Thank you for any help you can give me!

I would think stories of converts would be appealing and there are sooooo many. Malcolm Muggeridge’s story, first as a simple believer and then as a RC, had a profound impact on me when I was 20 something. Peter Kreeft’s are also great intro’s to thinking/reasoning and RC-ing. Magazines too. And there are lots of solid ones out now, from heady ones on to less so.

Hi LJR,

Welcome to the Forums!

You may want to look into the “Prove It!” series by Amy Welborn. They are targeted to teens and young adults and I have heard great things about them.

See amywelborn.com/proveit/proveitpage.html for more information please!

God Bless,
VC
