A gift isn’t obligatory, but a personal choice, and an expression of your gratitude. As such, it’s very much up to you what you give. It doesn’t have to be a religious gift.
my dh and I were engaged at the time and he was my sponsor. I got a framed picture of his patron saint and a framed picture of my patron saint. They hang on the wall on each side of our marriage cross in our home today. It is something to remember the spiritual journet we took together.
Congratulations on your upcoming Confirmation and First Holy Communion.
It depends on how well you know them. If you don’t know them very well, get something like a gift card for coffee, or your local Catholic bookstore, or something like that. If you’re creative you could get them something you made yourself for the occasion of your Confirmation.
