Hi there,
I am new to the forum, so hello to everyone:) I have a 22 year old stepson who will be having his confirmation in the Catholic church in a couple of weeks. I am not a Catholic therefore I have no idea what would be a good/appropriate gift for him. His father, my husband, is no longer a practicing Catholic. We are a very close family even though we do not practice the same religion. At his age and being his parents what do you think out there? Any ideas?
Thanks, Tamera

A book with the ceremony of Confirmation in it. The Rites Volume One is published by Liturgical Press and costs $19.77 at amazon.com . The ISBN is 0814660150 .

As well as having the full ceremony and introduction to Confirmation it includes those for Penance, Marriage, Baptisms and Funerals.

I would get him the Catechism of the Catholic here. It is so improtant for young (I sound so old) people to have this at their finger tips. It addresses all the teachings of the Church and where they come from (Bible, Church Fathers). When my cousins, nieces and nephews celebrate their Confirmation, this is what I will give each one of them.

Also, I would give him a rosary. Something manly made out of wooden beads and perhaps a prayer card to the Saint whose name he will be taking.
Here are a couple that I like rosaries

Good luck and God bless

You can also easily find online his patron saint medal, and if he’s taking a Confirmation name, that saint as well. They come in precious metals and chains that withstand young men and their activities.

My son was much younger when he had his confirmation…second grade.
I found a nice, yet masculine, cross on a chain for him.
He has worn it many times and I am sure he will wear it many times to come.
Congrats to your son!
Karen
