In some places this feast is actually a solemnity or a feast (I have seen both)- my Australian Catholic Ordo has it as a Feast. Best to check with your Local Calendar here or phone parish or diocesan offices if one wants to be sure…or one could always ask in the Liturgy Forum.

A great day to pray for families and the Community of The Church and for peace, love and mutual understanding, respect and esteem between communities of goodwill everywhere. And an ability and willingness to listen to all communities everywhere regardless and what they may have to say.

A great day to pray for vary many things that The Holy Family calls to mind, especially thankfulness and gratitude for the gift of Mary and Joseph and their remarkable (to say the very least!) child, Jesus.

"Lord Jesus Christ, being subject to Mary and Joseph, You sanctified family life by Your beautiful virtues. Grant that we, with the help of Mary and Joseph, may be taught by the example of Your holy Family, and may after death enjoy its everlasting companionship.

Lord Jesus, help us ever to follow the example of Your holy Family, that in the hour of our death Your glorious Virgin Mother together with Saint Joseph may come to meet us, and we may be worthy to be received by You into the everlasting joys of heaven. You live and reign forever. Amen".
