A happy mistake! Requires cold weather.
I painted my mailbox the other day and decided to seal it with Rust-Oleum 2X Ultra Cover Clear Matte Spray .
The instructions say not to use below 50 degrees Fahrenheit. It was around 40 degrees in New York and I did it anyway. It started to crackle and there was nothing I could do to restore the smooth finish I had, so I decided to keep spraying and go with the crackle. I love it now! People I’ve showed it to really like it too.
This has got to be the easiest crackle method ever. If you don’t spray too much, you get a leathery look. Amazing. I really wanted to share this somewhere on the internet to get the idea out there. I hope someone tries this and gets good results too. I suggest you experiment a bit with it to see how to get the exact finish you want. I think it will work on any surface, wet or dry. That is my guess. Maybe a nice idea for crafty Christmas presents?
Good luck![Smile :) :)](https://cdn.jsdelivr.net/joypixels/assets/8.0/png/unicode/64/1f642.png)
