I work at a university in my work study job.
We have two offices, main office, where my overworked supervisior and her equally overworked companions are
and
the ticket office which my office shares with the athletic department and the atletic dept. ticket office.
Thier supervisor is supposed to manage ALL the equiptment, computers, ticket printers, chairs, phones, desks, pens, paper, b/c the university specificies it.
The athletic supervisor dosn’t and blames my poor overworked supervisor. Its not like the atletic supervisor dosn’t have time. In the past three years I’ve noticed her inclinations to laziness. She chatters on the phone’s to friends, works on her husbands bills (for his restraunt), leaves for hours at a time(expecting us to cover her) and plays solitare. She does do some work, however, its maybe for 3 hours out of an 8 hour day. Often I’M doing more work than her.
My supervisor has picked up the slack of the atletic supervisor in making sure we have working computers, and equiptment as as much as she could. I tried to tell her that athletic supervisor had time but just chose not to do it. After this my supervisor tried to clear responsibilites up but athletic supervisor said she was “too busy”. Finally, I broke down and told my supervisor exactly what I witnessed during the day when I worked there. My other work study co-workers confirmed this.
Needles to say at a small school my confession to my supervisor got back to the atletic supervisor, who is seething. She shows her distain by loudly whispering to the atletic workers about me just within ear shot. She won’t even call me by name even though I’ve worked in the office THREE YEARS.
Should I just apologise to her and quell her fury? I have a while before next time I’ll see her becuase she’s gone on vacation for three weeks mid school year
