Nightcrawler is so much better than superman. He can teleport short distances, which is better than being the “man of steel,” and he’s with the x-men.
here’s a picture:

Depending on which canon you read, many of the x-men are Catholic. Gambit (very cajun Catholic), Wolverine (devote, lapsed, devote again), Rogue (sometimes listed as southern baptist, but is lapsed/returned Catholic in the comics, and the original cartoon), and of course Nightcrawler (Is is monk in the comics and the cartoon, very devote Catholic in the movie.)

And of of course, there is always Daredevil, who is devote in his Faith.
Catholics are well represented in the world comics, don’t worry.

Jean Grey - otherwise Phoenix is the best oooh and Professor X - I like the telepaths - Jean is still the best!! 🙂

And of course Scarelt Witch - she rocks 😉

I think John Constantine is Catholic, too.😃

Bruce Wayne might be Zen Catholic, but I’m just guessing here.

Constantine isn’t Catholic in the graphic novel, and he is barely Catholic in the movie. Good B movie though, I love how they portray Satan.

Bruce Wayne is either lapsed Catholic, or lapsed Episcopalian. Most comic characters were WASPs at that time, so my guess is Episcopalian.

No, Gambit is the best! He throws exploding playing cards, how much cooler can you get?!

And that makes him better? I like the lone hero who goes off to save the day!

It’s not numbers I’m worried about… it’s “cool factor”–we don’t have any “cool” superheroes!

I will admit that before I came back to the Church my favorite comic book was Evangeline, and she was a nun. She’s also an assassini, so she’s not exactly a good role-model.

She can fly and pick up things with her mind, and read peoples thoughts and turn into a cool phoenix thing - she is so the best!!! 🙂
Jean Grey can’t turn into the Phoenix under her own power, she was possessed by the Phoenix. I’m still annoyed that the movies are going with the Phoenix story arc, after they swore they weren’t going to.
Gambit is so much cooler, and he has a cool accent.

If you go with the comic canon, Nightcrawler is a lone hero. He was abandoned at a monastery as a child, and eventually took vows there. He is the defender of the monastery, and does a very good job of it.
