I got this email and wanted to know if it is superstition or if it is OK to forward it.

its a chain letter, disregard it. if you really want to know about St. Theresa read her book story of a soul or any book about her, and don’t waste your time on this drivel. prayer does not consist of “make a wish” a saint is not a birthday cake with candles.
 
Absolute rubbish - even the idea of tying making a wish in with praying seems ridiculous to me. As others have said, you should disregard this e-mail. St Therese said that she wanted to spend her Heaven doing good on earth - it did not come with the condition that you pass a superstitious prayer/wishlist to 17 people in 15 minutes. Or if she did stipulate such a condition, I expect the dear saint is pretty bored right now…
 
I really dislike all of these chain letter things, but this one is particularly odious to me. It’s not written in the style of either Teresa of Avila or Therese of Lisieux, and I can’t imagine Theresa of Calcutta saying any of that garbage, either.

Oh, I hate those things. I even get them from one friend, who is a Catholic. I delete them, immediately. They are chain letters.:mad:

Delete… and move on. 😉 God bless.
 
I get these Catholic “chain letters” frequently from friends and parishioners. I know they mean well but are ignorant. I just delete them.
Any suggestions on how to teach these senders, with sensitivity? I’ve mentioned to a few people that these are superstitious.
