Hi!
I would like to know if supporting people (artists, musicians, etc.) that support things like LGBT or are not religious for example, would be a sin… if yes, is it considered grave matter? I am not supporting them because of the things that they support, but because of their music and art.
Thanks and God Bless!

What do you mean by supporting them? Just listening to them? Buying their merch? Retweeting them?
I personally don’t feel very comfortable visibly supporting artists who openly espouse immoral things. Usually these viewpoints come out in their music as well.
Can you ask your pastor?

I think of listening to their music and sometimes sharing them on social sites, meaning recommending them to others, sometines buying the merch or music…
I dont know if I should ask him this but i will think about it… thanks

I think your pastor has been around popular culture for long enough to see how it affects his flock. He might have some insight for you! Worth a try anyway!
Good luck navigating our secular culture! My kids are young people too (late teens/ early twenties) and it’s not easy to be a strong Catholic in these days.
Best wishes to you!

Thanks and best wishes for you in terms of forming the Faith of your kids!

Well I mean… I guess it depends on a lot of things like how open they are about their views. We can’t KNOW often when we shop whether the seller is religious or not. It would be bizarre to ask. But if it’s an artist who is flaunting their opposition to Church teaching, I would avoid.
