Right now my parish doesn’t have the “parish pay” feature on its website.

I occasionally like to go to an EF Mass that is offered elsewhere in my diocese, but at the same time want to uphold my responsibility to support my own parish (as well as contributing something when I go to the church which has the EF Mass. I’m sure others feel the same way.

My question is, how do you all do this?

Bring your past envelope, that is if you use them, to the next mass at your parish.
If you pay at in cash ,adjust accordingly, at the next mass.

the way most people do is simply write one check or make one donation to cover two or more masses, and clip those envelopes together and put them in the basket next time. I am sure no parish would refuse a monthly or other periodic check by mail, either.

This is what we do when we travel, as well.

I would note that you should also support the parish where you are receiving the Sacrament - (you probably are but you didn’t mention it . . .) When we travel we contribute to the parishes we visit - not as much as we do our home parish, but not just a token, either - because we are grateful for the opportunity to worship in our Church wherever we go (and since I can afford to take the trip, I can afford to contribute, right?) But our primarily obligation is still to the parish that carries us week to week, baptised our children and buried our parents . . .

Our parish office often includes a note in the bulletin at the beginning of summer, for families that have summer places, and again in late fall, for the snowbirds, that if you’re going away please mail your contribution in, since the parishes expenses don’t go on vacation.

I write a monthly check to my parish. If there is a week that I’m visiting someplace else, I make a small donation to the place I’m visiting and know that my parish got its regular amount.

Oh, yes, I always make a contribution to the parish where I go to the Tridentine Mass, that’s in addition to my regular parish contribution. I probably should do that by check so I can put it towards my tax records.

Thanks for the advice.

I’ve just been out of my own parish for a month. That just means my envelope will have double the usual amount for the next 4 Sundays. Yes, I donated to the parish I was visiting this past month.

My wife and I budget x number of dollars per month then divide that into 4 equal payments. Which ever parish we are at gets that weeks check.

When working with a fixed income thats the only way we can do it.

The obligation is to support the Church, not a particular parish.

This is acceptable even for the income tax to the Federal, if you pay tax elsewere on some income, you are not obliged to pay again here.

Naturally every parish accepts donations, some even established methods for regular credit card payments.

In the reality the movements between the parishes are quite well balanced out, people shop for parishes not only for TLM but for more or less liberal ones too.
