Survival of Christianity in a Communist dominated world - hypothetical

It was brilliant to be surrounded by a number of governments that were staunchly anti-Communist, but I think it was because nations like Britain, USA and such were more against the ideology’s economic policies rather than the ban of religion.

Suppose it was the opposite: every major government around us supported Communism. How will Christianity survive?

Stalin had complete control of the USSR, and Fr. Ciszek still managed to minister to the Russian people both in and out of the gulags. “…The gates of the netherworld will not prevail against it.”
