Came across this online, not sure if I should be impressed or dismayed.
Baylor University (Baptist) is hosting a Syriac Studies seminar, but with no notable speakers from the Syriac Churches. In fact, the flier implies that the Syriac Churches are not Catholic or Orthodox, when in fact the largest are both Catholic and Orthodox. In addition, they state there will be notable speakers but the names listed do not mention notable greats like Dr. Sebastian Brock, anyone from SEERI, nor the Syro-Chaldean-Assyrian-Malankara-Malabar Patriarchate/Catholicates. Check it out if anyone happens to be around and send us a report or video, please:

“The Syriac Christian Churches: Rediscovering the Church’s Eastern Roots” will help Western Christians understand an often-overlooked part of their common heritage. The seminar will take place from 9 a.m. to 4 p.m. Wednesday, April 20, in the Cox Lecture Hall of Armstrong Browning Library.
