I have never heard the Syriac Qurbana sung in such a way, it is usually completely sung in Syriac melody. Did it sound like this?

Thank you, Thomas, for that interesting explanation. The Syriac recording I heard seems to have been the Syriac form. I guess I got a little confused because of the inherent variance between the Syro-Malabar style and the Mesopotamian style.
