Does anyone else have difficulty explaining Catholicism-related things to non Catholic friends/ family/ peers in everyday conversation?
I always feel like I am either watering things down, hiding something, or being confusing by using words that are too “Catholic” and assuming they know what I mean when they probably don’t.
For instance, if you have an Adoration hour at 10 pm, do you just tell people you are going to church late at night? What do you say when they ask “Why so late?” Do you say you are going to “Adoration” even though your friends might have no idea what that is? If they ask, how do you explain that in a few sentences? Do you just end it with “Oh it’s just something Catholics do”![Confused  ](https://cdn.jsdelivr.net/joypixels/assets/8.0/png/unicode/64/1f615.png)
Same with things like confession, sacramentals, etc.
Thoughts? Advice?
