“Never make a noise of any sort in church, except for the greatest necessity.”

St. Philip Neri

If people have to talk at least consideration for others should be shown and they should talk softly ,but where I have been going they talk like they are outside and at the top of their voices.

Even behind two closed doors I could hear them talk.

Silence is golden and especially when we can sit still before the Lord it is beautiful to pray like that.

Before Mass, everyone should definitely be sitting/kneeling and praying. After Mass, I’m not as bothered if people talk a little. It builds the camaraderie among the people of the Congregation. However, all conversation should still be respectful as the tabernacle is in there and we’re in God’s house.

I think the OP means…it’s so much like a Protestant service that this is the only thing that is missing. At my old Protestant church…they had a latte stand and you could get your coffee and take it into service with you:bigyikes:
 Oh jeez!

But of course, it’s only the Catholics that are “just in it for the money” and abuses NEVER happen in Protestant churches.

Where 2 or 3 are gathered, Jesus is there. Why not listen for what He might want to say to us?
