It would help if I knew what kind of protestant you mean!! (As well as what you & he were talking about…)

But, the most common way I have heard this used more recently, is by King-James-Onlyists, who say that all other translations are “taking away” (or “adding to”) the words of Scripture…
I am thinking of one man in particular, who believes that reading any version other than KJV is the sign of the antichrist. He also thinks that the Left Behind books are being written to turn Protestants into Catholics, but I digress…(No, I am not kidding!!! He’s a fundamentalist Baptist, by the way…go figure!)
I never heard of this person. Do you have any links about him? I’ve heard plenty of KJV-only preachers (most of whom are Baptist), but I’ve never heard of a Baptist who thought that the Left Behind series was designed to turn Protestants into Catholics. The whole premillenial rapture of the church concept pretty much is standard belief in most Baptist congregations, so I don’t understand what this man would be trying to say here.

The Lamb’s Supper by Scott Hahn and yes it is an excellent book! 👍
yeah that the one. I believe some nice person sent it to me while I was in Iraq through some books to soldiers program. I first heard of it from a man named montanaman from the protest warrior forum which is now shut down:( .

No links; I know a lot of fundies because I am related to them. But this is coming from Bob Jones University. Several of the large independent Baptist churches here in upstate NY have pastors who are preaching this, which they were taught at BJU.
So I assume he’s one of their professors.
The number of “Catholic plots” you hear about from fundamentalists around here lately is enough to make you http://bestsmileys.com/silly/18.gif...lly/18.gifhttp://bestsmileys.com/silly/18.gif!!!

Sorry, what I meant to say was that the “pretribulation rapture of the church” is the standard belief in most Baptist congregations.

I think John was speaking specifically about the “Left Behind” series which has become some Protestants newest testament.
l listened to John Martignoni’s take on the Left Behind series, and his take made sense. l saw it a long time ago but never questioned the authenticity of the story.Any one else seen it?
