Looks like it is time to target Target:
Target Pharmacist Fired for Refusing to Dispense Abortifacient Morning-After Pill
By Terry Vanderheyden

ST. LOUIS, Missouri, January 27, 2006 (LifeSiteNews.com) – A Target pharmacist has lost her job for refusing to dispense or refer for the abortifacient morning-after pill.

“For me, life begins with two cells,” said Heather Williams, explaining that the so-called emergency contraception pill, Plan B by Barr Pharmaceuticals, often prevents implantation of a newly formed human embryo within the uterine wall – which, of course, constitutes abortion. The same mechanism is responsible for the sometimes abortifacient effect of the regular birth-control-pill.

👍 Good for her! Hopefully she will find another employer who also upholds the pro-life value.

This just adds to my resolve not to patronize Target. They seem to go out of their way to offend. [Is that because they are French? ]

Why do they have to refer them to another pharmacy? Does anyone really have a problem finding more than one? Who are these people?

What’s the problem with referring? I could see not wanting to fill the script, but it’s only courtesy to inform the customer where else they might get their script filled. Remember the lady (assumedly) is a customer and should be treated with professionalism.

If employees won’t do their job and they won’t affirm company policy, then there’s nothing wrong with firing them.

When the day comes and I need a prescription filled and the pharmacist decides that they are smarter than the doctor and won’t fill it… well that’s the day I do everything in my power to have them fired from that job.

Being Catholic does not give me the right to inconvience others. The same goes for any Catholic pharmacist.

What if they refuse to help you kill your child?

Catholics do have a right–and an obligation–to not participate in murder.

To an extent that is true,However this person took a job that would require her to fill this particular prescription, she cannot judge when a prescription is valid, what if this was you going in to get a prescription for an asthma medication for your child as you were out of it and he was starting to have an attack, lets say the pharmacist was a Christian science member and decided that you didnt need that prescription Because her belief is that GOD cures everything if you give it a chance…

and another thing to consider here, if enough pharmacists start doing this guess what will happen? the drug will become OVER the COUNTER where anyone can get with out a DRs script.which in essence makes abortion that much easier, its ahppened this way with lots of drugs, anti smoking helppers, condoms, internal spermacides, the list goes on
that Day after pill is considered one of the safest drugs on the market with less side effects than an aspirin do you really want it to go over the counter?

Just my thoughts

You do make a good point and I respect that, but on the other hand, by just looking the other way for years, this is how these other products have become easy to obtain that anyone can buy a box of condoms as easy buying a loaf of bread. But of all the items use listed, even the spermicides and condoms to not directly kill as the moring after pill does. I too, would have a problem directly dispensing this and would find another job ASAP! It should be banned, that would be ideal, but in the meantime let the Doctor him/herself dispense this drug in the office so he/she is not making others go against their beliefs. It is not a “beneficial” drug such as heart medication, blood pressure, antibiotics, or even a weight loss pill. Even birth control pill, a non-Catholic woman can argue its only to regulate her cycle or whatever, and in her mind its beneficial and she is not using it directly to kill her child. The only intention of the Morning After Pill is to murder the child by ingesting a pill.

I am sure Ortho and she -he take delight in the fact that the Target Pharmacist was fired, I would expect no less from either. The good thing is that every time someone stands up for life and makes those hard decisions the "Culture of Life"becomes a little stronger and Ortho and she-hes side becomes a little weaker. Tomorrow I am going to Googel "Target"and see if I can find an e-mail addy to inform them that not another dollar of my money will be spent there. Personally I think Target is a poor excuse for a retailer anyway…but the wife loves it…until tomorrow when I inform her of their pro-death policy!

I’d say the pharmacist was replaced by someone who will dispense the drug. Therefore the people supporting the drug got incrementally stronger, while those opposing it got weaker.

Make sure you also find the maker of the drug and refrain from buying any other drug from that firm. This may be inconvenient if they make a drug you rely upon, but I’m sure there is a moral escape clause you can use for personal convenience.

Also look up the makers of all the members of this class of drug. It will be instuctive when you use their products.

I’m not glad he was fired, but I’m sorry he wouldn’t just refer the script. That’s the minimal thing that he could have done. It’s a small thing to do, but it can make things much more comfortable for the customer. Here’s a script:

Customer: I need this filled.

Pharmacist: I’m sorry I can’t fill this. However, if you’ll come back after 5, when Jack’s on duty he can fill it, or if you want it filled sooner, the Rite-Aid down the street on 15th and Oak has it.

Customer: Why won’t you fill it?

Pharmacist: I can’t fill this script due to personal concerns. Have a nice day.

👍 Mike I myself will never shop there again. Of course for me Target was quite convient, I live just 5 blocks away. But I rather travel to other stores then give these people one more dime of my money. When I think of the money I spent just last Christmas, well my blood’s boiling got to stop;)

First off you have no RIGHT judging me you dont even know my stand on issues,

My suggestion would be to go back and read more than 2 or 3 words of MY post if you cannot understand it after that go back to school and learn to read.
as far as what I said about the person being fired I could care less if he fired or not I look at it from a buiseness owners point of view,
I hire someone to do a job I dont give a rats what the job is I am paying this person to do the job and do it properly, not to make a judgement upon my Customers no matter how wrong or right they may be,My job as owner is to tell the customer if they are wrong or right not the people i am paying,
if they have a problem with my buiseness they have the right to leave the job, they do not have the right to send my customers down the street to my competitors.if they want to do that they should seek a job at the competitors.
if thewy not happy with the wage they get or the living i am giving them the chance to earn at MY place of Buisness they have the right to leave.
think about it in those terms and you see why this person was fired.
they are earning a living from one place yet sending customers to some other place,

Before you judge someone on a post read it.

For the record being as you are trying to label me as something i am not i am pro life, and i do not nor ever have shopped at target stores, YOU have been supporting Target I have not.so i guess we should all judge you now right?

I hope the person whom was supposed to install the brakes on your next vehicle isnt against working with something that USED to contain asbestos and elect not to install them.
because asbestos has killed so many,

and as I said before until a law is made to stop this pill and make it illegal, they will only make it over the counter so a person wont even need to see a DR to get it,some will find this as a better safer form of BC as they wont have to take daily pills or get injections, just if they “get pregnant” go to the store and buy a pill because us pro lifers were so stupid we caused the Govt to make it so easy to purchase, think I am wrong? ask yourself why Condoms are no longer behind the counters,or why yeast infection meds are over the counter now,I could go on and those were only for fear of embarrassment that they got over the counter…
before you go and scrutinize something and make such a daring stand that it draws National attention that is going to cause the fed supreme courts to get involved make sure it wont backfire in the worst possible way.this product going over the counter will be worse than anything for Babies.

I took your advise and went back and tried to read your posts. I guess you may be right, after trying to read your posts I could have misunderstood what you were trying to say, of course anyone could…after several incoherent paragraphs, I just had to , well ,give up and just guess at what you were trying to say. Words should be placed in such a fashion that when placed one after the other they express a logical thought process, so you see my problem! However in the future I will not respond to any posts that you submit knowing that what is in your mind is not necessarly what you have posted

**OK, you lost me on this one. Yeast infection medications? What does that have to do with Plan B? Nothing.

By the way, that Target pharmacist was fired for something called, Failure to Follow, not her religious beliefs. Though her religious beliefs caused her to fail to follow Target policy. Not to judge the pharmacist or Target, just stating a fact.

As for John’s references to customer service, maybe you should study up on business a bit more.**

what i meant that seemed to lose you was the fact that medications are being sold over the counter for something as menial as added embarrassment to purchase.
add in that pharmacists are refusing to fill one that is considered as safe as aspirins (which are sold over the counter) and what ytou going to have over the counter abortions,No Dr needed.

and if your referring to me needing to study up? I would hardly think so and i doubt you are qualified to tell me too unless you have a masters degree, then you would have sufficient qualifications …

the way you are Backing this employee who refuses to follow her absolute JOB DESCRIPTION we all should just go to work punch in and sit there and collect our paychecks.
why should we work,or perform our Job as we were hired to do

sorry i am against abortion but I am not for letting an employee dictating what her job descricption is.
she is fired and should stay fired unless she will do the job she was hired to do.and if you own a buiseness and you let your employees tell you what they are going to do then i am sure its not very profitable
