The OT prohibition against tattoos was discipline, not doctrine. It was a practice of the Jews to avoid tattoos, because the pagan peoples tattooed the names of the gods that they worshipped on their bodies. So Jews were forbidden from tattoos in order to keep them from falling into pagan worship.

But tattoos are not forbidden by the eternal moral law. And Christians are not under the OT disciplines.

Pax Christi !

I have a friend who likes tattoos and already got one. Any way I can convince her to remove it and not to have it again? I love her as a friend and I want the Holy Spirit to live in her.

Thank you and God bless us all…
One of the best priests in our diocese has tattoos. Of course saints had piercings culturally probably a lot of men saints were pierced.

I honestly think you may have scrupulocity issues.
What does your priest say about how you should approach your friend?

Maybe a nice rosary tattoo would be nice!

Do you honestly think piercing ears is sinful!?
