Teach your sons heroic virtue

I think fathers could do a lot better talking to their son about sex. Many put it off and the son gets into porn and masturbation before the father gets to first base. By eleven or twelve they should understand what is about to happen to their bodies and the power they will possess. The power to participate with Almighty God in the creation of new human beings! Did you do a good job with your sons? Did your father prepare you?

By age 12 it was open season on the internet for exploring fetishes. Probably because my dad had no idea how to operate a computer, among other things. I feel slightly disrespectful in saying this when I know I shouldn’t, but I never looked up to either of my parents (except when I was a small child and oblivious). They were always so disappointing and predictable. They do love me in their own extremely limited way, but compared to Jesus it is hatred.

Matt Fradd gives very articulate and helpful talks on how to prevent and/or undo the sex/pornography issue. But yes, handling the issue by avoiding the issue is ignorant beyond telling.

If I have a son I will do everything within my power not to fail him These days, a boy’s first encounter is roughly around the age of 8.
