Hello! I am teaching a youth group at my church and need some fun ideas to start my 2nd lesson. The lesson is called Listening to Jesus. If anyone could please bounce a few ideas my way for a fun activity to do before the class discussion, it would mean a lot! There were about 12 kids last time, hopefully more this time. Preferably an activity that can be done outside, but inside is okay also.

The first lesson’s activity was a football game. The lesson was called Jesus is a Guy, Not a Rule Book. The activity was centered around the football being us (the children of God), Jesus as the Quarterback, the offensive line being the saints, the defense being temptations of sin, God as the coach, and the in-zone being heaven. The activity went really well, each kid got to be a certain saint and the kids had a lot of fun.

I want them to get involved in a fun activity that relates to church so they can feel involved in the class discussion. I look forward to any ideas you all have and thank you for taking time to read my post.

you have put a lot of thought into it. i’m sure the kids you have really appreciate it. how old are they? our middle school group is pretty freeform. its usually a chat where we talk about faith morals and the sacraments. then we play dodgeball or something. sorry that probably isnt helpful at all but im sure the group loves the attention.

Actually that is really helpful! I’ll be able to make a good activity with dodge-ball. Thanks jpotato!
