Well, we’ve been asked to teach next week’s class going over two main topics:

7 Sacraments (overview since I guess we’ve gone over them already before individually)

Apostles’ Creed

Any good resources/links for the Apostles Creed? I’m not sure where to begin…maybe I should start with the Catechism?

You could pont out that the Catechism is patterned after the Creed taking one article at a time and analyzing it in the light of Scripture and Tradition(point out footnotes usually either Magisterial documents or Scripture).

Then at the end of the Catechism are the sacraments. You could go over the “in-brief” sections in the first part of Part II (Sacraments and Paschal mystery etc.

When I taught RCIA we taught The Sacraments in General near the beginning and then the individual Sacraments grouped, Baptism and Confirmation one week, Marriage and Holy Orders another, Reconciliation and Anointing of the Sick another week and the Holy Eucharist by itself. You may want to explain Sacramental theology. Why the Catholic Church is a Sacramental Church. Why Christ established the Sacraments or provided for the Church to establish the Sacraments that He didn’t specifically establish. Remember that most people converting to the Catholic faith have no grasp of Sacraments in general and why they are so important to the life of the Church and every Christian.

At St. Joseph’s we use the ACM Catechist Manuals for our lesson plans and I have to say we have had incredible success with this approach.

I am also going to refer you to this link:
mariancatechist.com/html/general/requestmariancatechisthelp.htm

I have been a Marian Catechist for over a year now and it is a wonderful source for teaching the Faith in a manner that is faithful to the magisterium.
