Teaching on marriage and sex?

I got pg in August 2004 while practicing NPF. I had the baby last April. My hubby and I have not had relations but with the excpetion of 1 time since the birth because he is afraid I will get pg. He is 47 and I am 39. We will both be a year older in Sept and Oct. He wants to get a V! I have tried several times to make him understand the teaching of the church, but could you clarify for me?

The Great Pope Paul II gave several great talks about this very topic during his papacy. Pieced together, they have become know as “Theology of the Body”.

A gentleman by the name of Christopher West provides an overview of the Pope’s revolutionary teaching. I am attaching a link to his website.

Christopher West also has a Q & A book regarding marriage and sex entitled: The Good News about Sex and Marriage. That might be more accessible than the whole Theology of the Body…although getting a grasp of the TOB will be more solid in forming your husband in understanding the big picture, it will involve a little more time. You can get 10 cds entitled Naked Without Shame also by C. West for $3.90 at giftfoundation.org. It’s a worthwhile 10 hour crash course.

But through all of this it is still the grace of God to grant illumination to your husband to understand the significance of being open to life in relation to God…so much prayer and mortification on your part is essential.

Just out of curiosity, did you get the book and take the class on NFP? Do you feel you have a mastery of NFP?
