TEC (Teens Encounter Christ)

Hello,

I was wondering if anyone else on this forum has ever been involved with this movement. It has been in my diocese for awhile and has helped many of the youth who attended grow and become more active in their faith. At one point during the weekend they talk about the much larger TEC family - in all parts of the country. Are any of them on here??

Looks like a good program to bring a Venturing Crew or a Confirmation class to.
What do you like about it? What don’t you like about it?
 
Honestly, I’m not sure there is anything I don’t like about it, except that sometimes we cannot use the church for Mass or Adoration because it conflicts with the regular schedule for that parish so we use the parish center. I really think my favorite parts are the meditations, or talks, the group discussions, and that those who have completed the weekend can come back and serve on the next one. I like how it’s a family and it doesn’t stop once the weekend is over.

My friend’s daughter went to TEC a couple of years ago when she was a senior in high school. She loved it. Some of it was similar to the CRHP weekend that me and her dad had gone to. They had there TEC weekend at a minor Basilica in Carey OH. I have been to the Basilica and it a beautiful place there.
