Washington, DC – Despite billions of dollars spent by national and state governments and groups like Planned Parenthood on promoting birth control and contraception, a new report issued by the Guttmacher Institute indicates teen abortion, pregnancy and birth rates all rose in 2006.

Thanks Juliee for the information. This is what happens when God gets pushed out of schools and government. Progressivism, relativism, humanism in our society has increased in the school systems promoting birth control, contraception, abortion along with alternative lifestyles (LBGT, lesbian gay, bisexual transgender) .

On ocassion I travel to Fort Myers, FL to the local Fort Myers womens center at prayer walk with my parish priest. Today it was a diocesan event and I took the day off from work to the Fort Myers womens center with our bishop. Last year I went to Sarasota, FL with 40Days For Life. We went to Planned Parenthood at downtown Sarasota for the prayer walk. I noticed a van in the back with the name “The Source Theater” on the side. I went on their website and noticed they are a live arts group that travels nationwide and at times to Mexico. They promote and encourage (abstinence) birth control, abortion, LBGT(lesbian, bisexual, gay, transgender lifestyles) to the youth as they travel.

Notice I had put abstinence in parethesis. PP and The Source mention abstinence but very weak almost non existent. I went to Lifeline Family Center ( pro-life abortion alternative center) in Cape Coral,FL. They want to promote the good abstinence to the Lee County School system but face many obstacles with the school board ( which I have voted against for the past two elections in our county).

People in this country today think pro-life is only about Catholic Christians and Christianity. In ancient times, pagans knew the “Natual Moral Law”. Today’s society is so progressivist that they see the last generation as totaly stupid.Notice the “new age spiritualist” movements .

Oprah Winfrey is known as a “new age spirtualist” and pro-choice. She lacks recognition of organized religions. .Yes she has contributed greatly nationwide and worldwide. It is great and honorable for a person to contribute toward society.
And Oprah will be leaving local television. Think I care? Shes got millions of dollars through the 25 years. She owns her own production. She’s got money to travel to satellite radio, cable and satellite television, websites. People who follow her will keep dumping money on her Only difference is that Oprah has to keep a “clean screen” to the public.

Now the hate mail to me comes to me why I’m “bearing false witness” to Oprah Winfrey. I’m not here to put her down. But the actions and ideas she imposes are contrary to “Natural Moral Law”. Many people think progressive and relativist through their moral choices with dead consciences. I pray for Oprah and her forgiveness through Jesus Christ. Now, 50 million human beings have been “murdered” by abortion since 1973, STD"s (sexually transmitted diseases) alternative lifestyles, divorces, displaced families, rape, incest, other sex crimes and violent crimes have multiplied since 1973. When there is no God in my life, I end up making my relativist decisions of what is good for me. Not you or anyone else. When God is in my life, I know this “Natural Moral Law” more in depth from the one who imposed it. GOD.

We as Christians are “Holy”. Holy means set apart. We live in the world we don’t live with the “world”. It doesn’t mean we’re perfect and above mankind. Natural Moral Law and organized religion helps promote to the “Natural Moral Law”.

Abstinence is the key to prevent pregnancy.

I’m not trying to be mean or anything, but it almost sounds like you think this is GOOD NEWS!!! I DON"T think it’s good news. Had the rate gone down it might have shown that some girls were NOT getting pregnant at these early ages. I’m sorry, I don’t look at this as good news. But of course had the number gone down we would have heard that the push for contraception had increased instead of anything about “teens are using abstinance…” - I can’t rejoice in there being a higher birthrate for teens. I’d rather hear that it’s lower -

God Bless

Abstinence is the key to prevent pregnancy.
Indeed it is the only thing that works each and every time it is tried.

However I noticed a disturbing trend to lay blame for the statistic going up squarely at the feet of abstinence only programs.

How exactly can they be so sure?
Wasn’t it these programs that were also responsible for the numbers going down a few years ago?

Who makes up this stuff anway?

I think this is a direct result of the failure of churches to reinforce their teachings of abstainence along with the failure of the parents to adequately supervise their children.

This of course does not include cases of incest and/or rape which in some cases cannot be prevented.
