So we should reject freedom of speech?
Different kettle of fish.

Protesting something and employing the power of the law to shut down that something are two different things.

If Netflix came out with a series that is offensive to the LGBT community and they protest would you also accuse them of rejecting freedom of speech?

That won’t ever happen. Netflix has a whole section devoted to LGBTQ. They have like seven main categories and that is one of them.

It is gratifying to see many who signed the petition. 👍 Thank you all.

Did you post a review - you should with an explanation of the anti-Catholic and anti-Christian aspects - so people will know … plus, I really feel that the reviews will have greater impact than the petition 😉

And it might help steer people away from the program before they watch it and increase their viewing numbers

I have not seen or watched any of the episodes in this series. However, that does not mean that I did not add my name to the list for Netflix to stop showing this series.

Aimed at is 5000 signatures - It would be nice if that number is exceeded.

Netflix declares open season on Catholicism
with new blasphemous series
The Netflix series “F is for Family” is a disgusting ‘comedy’ which uses Jesus, Mary and many Catholic devotions as props in their sick scenarios.
Netflix has gone too far with this one.
Sex, profanity, drugs and blasphemy are the major themes of this animated program in a poor attempt to portray average 1970’s family life.
Blasphemy is not entertainment.

Do they really have no creativity at all that they can’t resort to endlessly attacking? I’m screaming mad right now. They are losers with absolutely zero talent. Apparently, you can write any cr*p these days and get paid millions of dollars. Pigs. Big fat pigs.

Oh you can bet there would be endless outcry.
You’re right. Disrespecting any religion far exceeds any “freedom of speech” rhetoric. They will only say what they will when and where it fits.

Every single time, someone in the Entertainment industry pulls this kind of thing…

Reading about the series, it says that it’s based on Bill Burr’s experiences. If those are truly Bill Burr’s childhood experiences with religion and Catholicism in particular, then we’ve got a LOT of work to do as evangelizers and disciples of Christ. 😊

I’m sure Netflix is working on a similar program mocking a Muslim family. Oh, wait . . . . . . . .
Netflix and MSM response will be how this will create negative and false stereotype against Muslims. They will then say that Muslims will be suffering from psychological turmoil because of discrimination they will experience. You know, (fake) hate crimes and whatnot. A NYT article will be published about how Muslims feel unwelcomed in America with emphasis how this creates inequality in the Muslim-American demographic on all levels - from school achievement, to job attainment and wealth accumulation.

So - while you can and perhaps should sign and send the protest to NetFlix - I think writing 5000 poor reviews would probably make a bigger impression - or at least the Petition and the bad reviews together might …
But writing a review would necessitate watching the show.

.
Which some people indicated they did 😉

However, not a single review I read - and I read many of them - discussed any religious content except a brief mention of a bible salesman that came to the door …

The ratings are overwhelmingly positive … 4 Stars plus

Enough people obviously watched to determine it had multiple attacks on Catholicism that they started a petition - which people are obviously signing with out firsthand knowledge 🤷 telling Netflix of their ire … but people - many people - are watching it and praising it …

So will Netflix decide the petition is signed by people who never watched it - and ergo do not count regarding their opinion of the show … while they can point to the postings of people - who obviously watched the show [ergo are subscribers] and loved it?

Not to mention that those who watched it and have first hand knowledge of this anti Catholic content by not posting about it - are not helping others avoid the program because there is no warning, no hint, no notice of that anti Catholic, anti- Christian bias and content …

I think to be meaningful - a letter should be written and mailed … or petitions gathered with hand written signatures. They speak volumes to how people feel and their real commitment to their position … for the most part - I think online petitions like this are too easy both to submit and for the receivers to ignore - 🤷
